In my class last night, there was a guest speaker who happens to have some of the same processing difficulties (or learning disabilities) as my son, and he after a hard road through school, is now a child psychologist at one of our local schools here in town and has been for 5 years. Now to some, this seems like it's just another typical testimonial for a class speaker to give....but for me, this is a ray of hope!!!
I can look at my kids and see that there is a way through this struggle, and there is a light at the end of this tunnel. They will be able to function on their own and there is a place in this society for them to achieve and accomplish whatever dreams they may have. It gave me hope to a solution, but more than that it gave me a drive to keep looking for the best way for them to learn!!
